about
Jill Greenlee is a belting rockstar in the middle of Illinois corn fields. She wrote a song about a bedtime story she told her daughter, and the music video created by Sarah Cayce, produced by Sarah Sharp, and shot by Robert Patrick Stern is an anthem to girlhood, motherhood, womanhood, and to Jill - the brilliant brain that made this entire project possible.
This project was funded by Jill's fans - friends, family, and people who love her music - thank you so much for greenlighting this project!

Harvest Moon Drive-in, an old-school two-screen drive in, will be screening Jill's music video, Golden Meadow, on Friday, October 17th, before the films that night. Catch Jill on a screen bigger than a house, and catch me at the back, openly weeping.
making of: a rockstar
Jill sang this song live for the first time producer Sarah Sharp heard it. Sharp describes the entire audience stopping, and all but melting, when Jill started singing, and knew Jill needed to do something special with the song's music video. As this was Jill's debut self-written song with a beautiful track record of playing in bands, the pair called me, and I fell in love with the song.
With lyrics as cinematic as hers, producer Sarah Sharp gave me the green light on an extremely ambitious music video that I can't wait to share. Jill's performance - in the film, not just the song - is above and beyond what most performers can, and will, do on camera. I watched Jill train her body, her brain, and her music business know-how on this project, and I'm so happy to say she pushed herself hard enough to make a project this lofty possible.
She came to the Sarahs, asking if there could be water in the music videos. She got constant reminders that she could have whatever she wanted, because she's a rockstar. Hopefully, she knows it by the end of this video. This is how Rough and Tough Sarah show love - we make your freakin' dreams come true.
making of: a rockstar's music video
With the funds raised, the idea solidified in our brains, and a beautiful summer ahead, we set off to find the best locations and crew available to us in Central Illinois. The Experience CU film office helped us lock in locations at Home Lake, and the Glasa family kindly let us splash in their incredible pond for this film.
We shot everything in Central Illinois, with everyone being local except for our fabulous SCUBA UNIT, Chris Parker 🤿 Chris, you made this film so incredible, my friend. Thank you!
